The kidSAFE Seal Program is a special “seal of approval” program that reviews and certifies the safety practices of children-friendly websites and applications, including kid-focused web games, virtual worlds, PC software, mobile apps, e-books, and other similar interactive products. The program offers three levels of certification (shown below), and each level corresponds to a different level of safety.
In order to obtain certification and display one of our seals, a child-friendly site or app must demonstrate compliance with a set of legal requirements and industry best practices in the following areas: (1) privacy, (2) interactive features and online safety, (3) parental controls, (4) data security, and (5) advertising and marketing. To learn more or to contact us, visit www.kidsafeseal.com.
Important Note: The kidSAFE Seal program does NOT review, rate, or certify the quality or appropriateness of the language, images, or other content that you see on a kid-friendly website or application. We only review and certify the interactive experience of the product for compliance with our guidelines in the five areas listed above. For information about content ratings, please refer to the appropriate industry rating system (e.g. ESRB, PEGI, MPAA, etc.).
