The kidSAFE Seal Program is a new, fast-growing “seal of approval“ program that independently reviews and certifies the safety practices of children-friendly websites and technologies, including kid-targeted game sites, educational sites, virtual worlds, social networks, mobile apps, tablet devices, and other similar online and interactive products.
Products that meet our safety standards are added to a distinguished list of kidSAFE-certified products (posted here) and are awarded the prestigious kidSAFE Seal for display on their website or technology. To learn more about our seals, click below.
The
kidSAFE Seal Program was founded and developed by
Shai Samet, an experienced and award-winning children's privacy consultant, and is advised by some of the world’s leading Internet safety experts, including
Anne Collier (ConnectSafely.org), Holly Hawkins (AOL), Marian Merritt (Norton/Symantec), and Amy Pritchard (Metaverse Mod Squad).
Important Note:
The
kidSAFE Seal Program does NOT certify or rate the “quality” or “age-appropriateness” of the language, images, or other content that you may see on a kids’ site or app. Although we do consider content in our overall analysis and also consult the ratings assigned by other organizations (such as
ESRB, PEGI, Common Sense Media), our primary focus is to review and certify these products for “interactive” and “online” safety. To learn more about content ratings, please consult the appropriate ratings organization.
